If you follow me on Instagram (which I am sure you do because why would you do that to me?), you saw that I went to a Tillamook Co-op event in Malibu.  Why Tillamook?  Because it sounded fun and mostly it sounded D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. Well my friends, it was fun!  And more importantly, delicious doesn’t even begin to explain the treats we had!   From sour cream ice cream topped with tomato and balsamic vinaigrette,  to aged sharp cheddar, swiss, and Colby topped with wild spices and foraged seeds, everything was so YUMMY!  Even cooler, they actually had a professional forager (yes, that exists in Los Angeles of all places), tell us about some of the seeds and herbs available in the LA area.  Want to know my favorite thing that I learned?  All pine is edible!  Who knew?   Although the food was obviously amazing, the scenery wasn’t so bad either.  It was held at One Gun Ranch which sits high in Malibu and looks over the ocean and beautiful greenery.  Plus, there were animals!  Pigs and alpacas and horses and dogs and…. I’m sure there were more, that’s just all I can think of off of the top of my head.   All in all, I would consider this event a win.  Well… except for that it was one million degrees, but I think that was a bit out of their hands.   Photography by Eli Sims  ...
