The long and short of it.

The long and short of it.

For most of the country I think shorts aren’t in your thought process in February, but you can definitely make them work!  I mean, try shorts that are longer, don’t freeze your cute buns off! Try some that go at least to your knees, and pile on a massive, oversized, you-look-like-a-marshmallow sweater.  Pair it all with a killer pair of boots and there you have it!  Shorts can be a good way to break up your wardrobe during the winter, as long as they aren’t shorts of the bootie variety.  These shorts are the perfect length to let some air in, but still cover some skin. Another reason to love these shorts?  The patches.  Easily done yourself I think!  Try cutting off a pair of boyfriend fit jeans or go with the camo print like these, and sew on some random fabric.  It doesn’t even have to be straight, done and done!  Luckily, wearing shorts just really isn’t an issue here, so… I’m pairing them with some short booties and an airy button up.  Kinda makes you want to visit Los Angeles right about now, doesn’t it?  You can, I’ll let you. P.S. Totally loving this round Valas bag, this shape is to die for!  A good way to switch it up a bit! Put ’em together and what have you got?

Put ’em together and what have you got?

I AM A MARSHMALLOW!  No seriously though, this sweater is massive and I feel like the Michelin Man when I wear it.  It’s okay, I feel good about.  BUT, it does call for something a little less… frothy (???) on bottom, which is why I went with baring a little skin and the sleek black satin of these boxing shorts.  Quite a nice contrast to the knit of the sweater, don’t you think? I threw in the white boots for good measure really, there was no rhyme or reason to that.  I just liked it!  Toss in a little blue with the bag, maybe some purple on the lips…  The weird thing about this outfit is nothing “matches” per se, but it all goes so well together.  Sometimes these kind of outfits, the ones were you just feel like everything was thrown together, turn out to be the best kind.  It’s almost a mistake, but such a good one if you ask me!
