California Summer

California Summer

My goodness, it’s been a while!  While I was in a definite need of a break from the blog, I am so happy to be back!  And if you didn’t already notice on Instagram, I’m now One Turn Kiss, rather than One Turn Kill.  Unfortunately there is too much negativity and violence happening in the world and my name was being associated with it.  I know that all of you know that I am quite the peaceful person (at least I hope by now you do…), and that I just want everyone to be nice and of course for everything to be cute…  But I couldn’t stand my name having such a negative connotation, and for that reason I have decided to push it all the way to the opposite end of the spectrum with a great big KISS!  So, that is that and everyone be safe and kind and lovey.  The outfit!  That’s why you are here, right?!?  This outfit totally screams California summer to me.  It’s relaxed and easy, baggy shorts and some vans, with the perfect amount of girly-ness in the lace top.  Plus, said lace lets the breeze in and baggy shorts aren’t too confining.  It’s pretty perfect if you ask me!   Top: Tea & Cup // Shorts: Urban Renewal // Sunglasses: Armani // Shoes: Vans Over Washed Sk8-Hi (Unfortunately the version I am wearing isn’t available in stores anymore, but you can always get the classic version...

World’s Best Superpower.

World’s Best Superpower.

While this vintage jumpsuit might not look like much, it’s one of the fundamental pieces in my wardrobe.  Mostly because it’s the easiest thing to throw on, but also because it actually says something.  What does it say?  Well, it kind of just says that I am lazy, but also that I found something unique and I’m not afraid to wear it! To be honest (or TBH, is that what the kids are saying these days?), one of these jumpsuits isn’t that hard to find, you could probably find one today if you looked around a bit.  I even linked to ones that are new that are quite a lot like this one, in case you aren’t into the vintage hunt kind of thing.  As for the hat?  This hat!  I can’t express to you in words how very awesome this hat via Millimétré is.  The most magical blue felted wool and perfect shape… I’m kinda making it sound like you will have super powers when you wear it, and it’s pretty much not far from that.  I mean, the ability to cover up a bad hair day at any given moment is quite the super power, no?  And now we are to the shoes (also via Millimétré) and Valas Los Angeles bag!  Shiny shoes?  No brainer.  White bag that’s so fresh and oh-so-clean? Done!  Wearing three statement pieces like the hat, bag, and shoes all in one outfit can be hard sometimes.  This is where the jumpsuit comes into play.  If you have a larger canvas of clothing to play with, say something like this green jumpsuit or...
Easy Like Sunday Morning.

Easy Like Sunday Morning.

How do you like my hair?  Show stealer huh?  Just kidding, it’s a bowl cut!  You know, the haircut from the past that is definitely back to haunt us?  Just kidding (again), I sleep just fine and I’m sure you do too.  Unless you have a traumatic bowl cut experience lingering from your childhood… If that’s the case I am sorry I have hit on such a touchy subject.  If not, you should really consider getting one yourself because it’s easy like Sunday morning in a hair cut. Any way… Little black leather skirts are a wardrobe staple in my book.  Probably in everyone’s book really, because aside from a good pair of jeans, it’s one of the most versatile pieces you can own.  Throw it on with a tee shirt and a good pair of boots to dress it down, or some heels and a dainty blouse, or do it my way!  I’m all about the comfortable shoe and a good vintage button up!   I like that the top is neutral with splashes of oranges, reds, and yellows.  It was a perfect match with a basic like a leather skirt.  I pulled the red from the top through to the bottom with the dark burgundy sneakers.  I thought a black bag would be a little too predictable, so I went for a tan clutch.  Et voilá!  The perfect black leather mini skirt outfit was born!   Top: Vintage // Skirt: BB Dakota // Socks: Hue // Shoes: Matt Bernson // Bag: Marie Turnor Photography by Sarah Fernandez...
The sweetest things.

The sweetest things.

An embroidered denim dress with a honey bear?  Duh, I had to have it.  It’s a honey bear!  Plus some cupcakes, cookies, tiny teddy grahams…  Come on!  You’ve never seen a sweeter dress and you know it!  All of this toothache inducing goodness via Eat.Me.Do.  Could the brand name be any better?  I think not!  And to top the dress off, there are tiny little ants marching around it.  I know, you almost cried a little it’s so perfect. So, how do you do a delicious dress like this right?  You pair it with a little glitter on your shoes and one crisp, clean, Valas Los Angeles bag.  I know that you know that I love Valas, (see here, here and this really fun one here,  just to name a few), because what’s not to love?  Buttery leathers, perfect shoes, touches of gold!  But this bag… So far it takes the cake!  Craving sweets yet? I’m not normally a white purse kind of girl, but I have been lusting after this one for quite some time.  Why?  The structure of it!  It’s a little larger than most round cross body bags and the stitching on the V just gets me.  I’m learning in my old age (yes, I’m getting old & my birthday is this month and I am only getting older), that I have a thing for perfectly stitched leather.  This is something that Valas gets right every single time whether on their shoes or on their bags.  Things like this let you know a brand is paying attention.  Nothing but the best I tell ya! Now, can someone...
