Lips + Faces

Lips + Faces

Was this bag made for me or what?  Sunita Mukhi does it again, this time with the Diamond Collection, and the Lola is clearly to die for.  Bright colors, in general, are my thing and this bag called for the best and brightest aka this crop top and vintage skirt.  I have no idea why I have this obsession with lips, it may have been inherited from my mother, who knows.  Either way, I couldn’t have designed a more perfect bag for myself!  You seriously know you want one of these.  Seriously though, you do. Pink Pleats

Pink Pleats

Pretty pink pleats!  I love vintage skirts!  Well, I love vintage shirts, pants, shoes, AND skirts.  It’s the best when you can weave vintage into your wardrobe to get a completely different look.  It’s fun finding things that are still on trend, whether it’s through the color, the shape, or the fit, but it isn’t exactly the same outfit someone else is wearing.  Case in point, this pleated vintage skirt with a Zara top and pink Converse.  I bet no one else will be wearing this skirt as I go throughout my day, and that is a good day if you ask me! Also, I cut my bangs!  What do you think? Top: Zara (I have like three of these in different colors, they are the perfect basic!)  // Skirt: Vintage // Shoes: Converse // Bandolier: California Surplus...
Did I find the perfect statement piece?

Did I find the perfect statement piece?

I love statement pieces and totally believe in the value of investing in them.  This skirt is no exception!  Except, well, it wasn’t an investment.  First of all, it was from Zara, and second of all, I got it at the crazy sale Zara is having right now.  It is neoprene, ruffle, and Hawaaiian print perfection.  Plus, the assymetrical hem and color blocking also adds interest, giving you the perfect go-to statement piece!  I love it with this vintage printed shirt, but I can also see me wearing it with a tee shirt, for an understated but I-still-got-dressed-and-semi-tried look.  The stretch of the neoprene also makes it super comfy!  All in all, it was a perfect purchase in my book! And let’s not forget about these shoes!!! I mean come on!  It’s like playing dress up in those toy story heels, minus the plastic heel and add in real life.  I want to wear these everywhere and with everything, from skinny jeans, to boyfriend jeans, to statement skirts!  There are no boundaries when you have glitter and jewels!  Try it out for yourself! Shirt: Vintage // Skirt: Zara (I couldn’t find it online, but try your local store ASAP!), get the same statement look on sale here & here! // Shoes: Zara // Bag: Vintage  ...
Midweek Music Relief: That Time.

Midweek Music Relief: That Time.

Some days I get dressed and it just seems that there is something missing.  This day, was one of those days, and for some reason, the only thing that could complete my outfit were my Minnie ears.  Why?  I honestly couldn’t tell you, it just felt right.  Yea I will walk around wearing mouse ears, why not?  If it makes you feel better, wear it.  This is my motto as I choose my clothing every day.  Do I feel good in this? Is it complimenting how I feel today?  Is what I am wearing making my day better?  If I don’t answer yes to any/all of these, it’s back to the drawing board.  The most important thing about clothing is that you feel good in them and they represent who you are and where you want to take yourself that day.  This playlist completely captures all of this and my outfit, listen away! Mouse Ears: Disneyland duh! // Shirt: Vintage // Skirt: Anthropologie // Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target Playlist by my lovely musically inclined assistant,...
T-shirts and mini skirts.

T-shirts and mini skirts.

It’s real hot today, which means all you can do is eat popsicles and wear as little clothing as possible.  Well, maybe a little more than “as little as possible,” but this mini and tee shirt combo will definitely do.  Mini skirts are the essence of summer, if you ask me, and nothing goes better with them than a big baggy tee to offset the girlishness of it.  You can always go with a plain white tee and a patterned skirt, but where is the fun in that?  Well, there is still fun in that, because you should always have fun in a mini, but I wanted it to have something more unexpected.  I took a shirt with the same overall color scheme, aka black with a little white/gray/other colors, and threw in some sneakers of the same color scheme.  Each piece somehow flows into the next, while keeping their own point of interest. Starting out with one piece, for me the skirt, and building upon it is usually how I pick out my outfits.  I decide on one thing that I for sure want to wear that day, and then find a shirt that compliments it, and then go for shoes.  Breaking it down like this makes getting dressed a much less daunting task because you aren’t trying to figure everything out at one time.  Now if I could just apply this method to everything in life, I think a lot more would get done… Well, maybe tomorrow, but for now, at least I am dressed!   Shirt:  Led Zeppelin classic from my boyfriend closet // Skirt: Urban...
