Suede, meet Leather. Leather, this is Suede.

Suede, meet Leather. Leather, this is Suede.

A bit of an overload of pictures this time huh?  Sorry, but not really sorry.  Sometimes outfits just photograph so well it’s hard for me to choose so instead of wasting my time deciding I just throw them all up… You mad? Didn’t think so.  I know you all just L-O-V-E to see half a million pictures of my bright shiny face!  And on to the clothes!  Did you think I was joking when I said that a black leather skirt is a wardrobe staple?  Besides this one and the little mini I posted a while ago, I also own a vintage black leather pencil skirt.  You seriously can’t go wrong with black leather skirts, throw it on and GET OUT THE HOUSE!  I’m actually really excited to style this one, from Oasis, with an oversized sweater.  The mix of leather and suede are all-too-perfect for fall!   Which reminds me… Guess what!?!  I’m cold right now!  It’s cold outside! In LA!  It’s cold!  Well, it’s “cold”.  It’s like… I don’t know… 64 degrees, which trust me, is FREEZING compared to the 90 degrees it’s been here for the last few months.  Perfect timing to bust out the leather skirts and oversized sweaters, no? To make you move and shake.

To make you move and shake.

I can’t express to you how in love with these pictures I am!  With the sheer stripes on the skirt and the sparkle of the shoes in the sun… Sheesh, these ones make me so happy!  And speaking of the sheer stripes in the skirt (and making me happy), how freaking adorable is this skirt by Alli K!?!  I have so many plans for it and I kind of want to wear it every day, even if it’s only around the house, just to feel pretty.  When I was little and took ballet, I had a sheer wrap around skirt that my mom made for me to wear over my leotard and tights, it had about the same coloring as this very skirt.  Wearing it stirs up so many fun memories for me.  It’s like a grown up version of a pretty little ballet piece, now you go ahead and tell me one person who wouldn’t be in to that!  You can’t, I already know.   So much detail is put into Alli K clothing, with the perfect pleats in the skirt and the elastic side band on the button up top…  And did you see the button detailing on the back at the neck? Swoon worthy details, I’m tellin’ you!  They haven so many skirts and dresses, all with lovely little details, to twirl and shake in. Clothing that makes you want to move, just to see how it moves, is clothing worth wearing if you ask me!  I’ve got my eye on a few more dance worthy pieces, like this striped pleated skirt and this petal adorned dress....
Not being serious about anything.

Not being serious about anything.

This could very possibly serve as a very good option for a not so red and pink, but still red and pink Valentine’s Day outfit.  If you add in extra colors it helps take the outfit out of the cheesy realm and into the “it’s just another day but also it’s a holiday” realm.  Got it?  I think adding blue into the mix is a really good option to mix it up.  Pair your boyfriend’s, brother’s, or dad’s (or you can just get your own, the one I am wearing above is killer and super soft), old button up with a pink skirt or even with denim and throw in a red purse.  The outfit will let people know you are acknowledging it is a holiday, but you aren’t feeling too serious about it.  Besides, who wants to be serious about anything?  Not me.  So do your thing, spice it up, and don’t forget to send me some candy hearts. Put ’em together and what have you got?

Put ’em together and what have you got?

I AM A MARSHMALLOW!  No seriously though, this sweater is massive and I feel like the Michelin Man when I wear it.  It’s okay, I feel good about.  BUT, it does call for something a little less… frothy (???) on bottom, which is why I went with baring a little skin and the sleek black satin of these boxing shorts.  Quite a nice contrast to the knit of the sweater, don’t you think? I threw in the white boots for good measure really, there was no rhyme or reason to that.  I just liked it!  Toss in a little blue with the bag, maybe some purple on the lips…  The weird thing about this outfit is nothing “matches” per se, but it all goes so well together.  Sometimes these kind of outfits, the ones were you just feel like everything was thrown together, turn out to be the best kind.  It’s almost a mistake, but such a good one if you ask me!
