Spring cravings?

Spring cravings?

Mixing seasons can be hard, but it’s a fact of life as the weather will inevitably change and fashion trends will be there, right along side, for the ride.  Now, I’m not saying anything I am doing here is new, socks with sandals dates back to most of our kinder years, BUT it’s a nice little switch up while the seasons make their transitions which makes it feel new.  I mean, it was a good like… I don’t know… four months ago that we were in fall transition and socks and sandals were rearing their ugly (yes, it’s kind of an ugly pairing), little heads.  So yes, four months later it does feel new and exciting when it’s something that has been taken from you, like cold weather seems to do with not only our sandals, but everyone’s soul.  That may or may not be a slight exaggeration… Any way, it’s time to start thinking about spring and how to merge cold and warm weather pieces into one seamless set of outfits.  I like the idea of marshmallow-y sweaters and longer shorts, like I talked about in The long and short of it, but the outfit above is also a good option.  Pair shorts of a more sturdy fabric, also known as leather, with a wool sweater to keep yourself warm.  Been craving summer days filled with platform sandals and sun kissed legs?  Throw on your favorite sandals with a cute pair of socks to match your sweater!  As far as the sun kissed legs go, I can’t really help you with that.  Sorry dudes!  I do hope though...
A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

This outfit makes me happy.  The combination of a visor and a blazer?  Come on, you know it makes you happy too. This entire outfit stems from the design of these shoes by Valas.  Everyone meet the most chic black lace up sneakers you have ever come across in your life!  I seriously dare you to find a sleeker sneaker.  Double dog dare even!  Really though, I love that they look so much nicer than just another pair of white sneakers (you know the ones, they are everywhere on EVERYONE), so you can pair them with just about anything, dressy or casual, and get away with it! I decided to bring out the sporty side of the shoes a little with the tee dress and the visor, but threw a blazer over to pull it more towards the dressy side.  A little bit of this, a little bit of that, making the outfit meet somewhere in the middle at sheer outfit bliss. Do you guys have outfits that for one reason or another just make you happy?  Maybe even just one piece that puts a smile on your face every time you wear it?  If only our closets could be full of ONLY those kinds of pieces.  #GOALS. The long and short of it.

The long and short of it.

For most of the country I think shorts aren’t in your thought process in February, but you can definitely make them work!  I mean, try shorts that are longer, don’t freeze your cute buns off! Try some that go at least to your knees, and pile on a massive, oversized, you-look-like-a-marshmallow sweater.  Pair it all with a killer pair of boots and there you have it!  Shorts can be a good way to break up your wardrobe during the winter, as long as they aren’t shorts of the bootie variety.  These shorts are the perfect length to let some air in, but still cover some skin. Another reason to love these shorts?  The patches.  Easily done yourself I think!  Try cutting off a pair of boyfriend fit jeans or go with the camo print like these, and sew on some random fabric.  It doesn’t even have to be straight, done and done!  Luckily, wearing shorts just really isn’t an issue here, so… I’m pairing them with some short booties and an airy button up.  Kinda makes you want to visit Los Angeles right about now, doesn’t it?  You can, I’ll let you. P.S. Totally loving this round Valas bag, this shape is to die for!  A good way to switch it up a bit!
