High Waisted + Cabin 14

High Waisted + Cabin 14

I’ve been super inspired by 70s styling lately.  I normally don’t like to go full on retro with  my outfits, but this one just felt so right all together.  Don’t you think?  This tee makes me feel like summer is here and I seriously can’t wait to wear it with some high waisted shorts.  Nothing says summer more to me than tee shirts and cut offs, it’s summer’s uniform!  But until summer days actually hit I’m digging theses jeans and a pair of clog boots to top it off.   I think the trick to pulling off outfits like this is attitude.  All the time I hear people saying ” I could never pull that off!”  As Henry Ford oh so wisely said, “Whether you think you can or you think can’t, you’re right.”  If it makes you feel good, do it!  On this day, this outfit made me feel good, so I went with it.  I’m not saying that I never think back on outfits and wonder how it possibly could have made me feel good, but you only live once, so have fun!  No outfit regrets over here! Sunday School: Mom, is that you?

Sunday School: Mom, is that you?

Sun•day school noun  a congregation of snapshots to enlighten you in the doctrine of fashion; held on a weekly basis.   This week: Mother knows best.   Your mom always knows best, especially when it comes to style.  Right?  Of course!  Because nothing feels better than pair of jeans served up madre style.  Pull ’em on, zip ’em up, and get ready for some major babealicious mom butt.  Swing a little mommy (jeans) and me time through the outfits donned below:    images via:  Vogue UK, Stockholm Streetstyle, Green Tea No Sugar, The Front Row View, Street Style Seconds, Street Pepper, Stockholm Streetstyle, Man Repeller, Kenzas, and Elle Magazine UK        ...
What color is that?

What color is that?

Red.  It’s red.  Is this my Valentine’s outfit?  It could be, but really I just wanted to wear it.  I chose the top and pants and then it just seemed natural to add in the red shoes.  Every other pair of shoes just looked like it wasn’t… RED enough.  I loved the different tones all put together in one outfit.  Sometimes it is hard to pull outfits like this off, if the pieces are too close in color it can look like one of the items has just faded.  You have to find the right mix of different tones of the same color.  GOOD LUCK. High waisted vintage wool slacks are probably one of the easiest things to come across.  Seriously though, go down to any thrift store and there are sure to be an abundance of them in all different colors, patterns, and sizes.  I prefer them to be slightly cropped, so either I roll them or have them hemmed a bit.  So easy to find, so easy to wear, and since they come in every single color out there, you could pretty much wear different ones every day!  Just what you always wanted right?  High waisted granny pants for you!  And you!  And YOU!
