Sunday School: For the Fringe of it.

Sunday School: For the Fringe of it.

Sun•day school noun  a congregation of snapshots to enlighten you in the doctrine of fashion; held on a weekly basis.   This week: Fringe with benefits. On a bus or on a train, on a purse or on your leg.  Fringe is for me and fringe is for you, fringe is all over your great aunt Sue.  Alright, that may have been a stretch, but she could rock it if she wanted.  Check out these chickees to see how to get your fringe on:     Images via: le21eme, A Love is Blind, The Atelier, Elle, Fashionscene, Stockholm Streetstyle, Style Hunter, Tommy Ton, Vogue, Who What...
Purple Leather.

Purple Leather.

I love the idea of long shirts over knee length skirts!  I think it adds something new and refreshing to a button up and pencil skirt.  Speaking of the skirt, how awesome is this vintage purple leather skirt?  I found it at a thrift store and it came with an equally as purple, but not equally as awesome, puffy sleeved bolero jacket.  I had to buy them both in order to bring home the skirt, but it was well worth it!   As for the shoes, well that’s a whole thing in and of itself!  I always talk about this piece pulling this other piece into the outfit through the color, but the black of the shoes and socks was nowhere to be found in the rest of the outfit!  I thought I was going to wear a black purse with this, but when I put it all together it was just too heavy and overwhelming to have something black in my hand.  I decided to go with this purple and red clutch from Anthropologie (check out the little fruit man, it’s awesome), to add a little interest to a color blocked outfit.  But alas, there still was no black to be found and that’s when I realized I didn’t have sunglasses!   As everyone knows, LA is sunny.  It’s almost ALWAYS sunny!  I love it, don’t get me wrong, but if you want the kind of light I like in my shoots, you are definitely going to have to wear sunglasses.  What a perfect way to bring in the black than with some black rimmed sunglasses?  Don’t forget...
Fringe + Boyfriend Jeans + Heels

Fringe + Boyfriend Jeans + Heels

I pretty much think my outfits could stop right here with this guy and I’d be just fine.  It’s just so much fun to wear… As cheesy as that sounds. Come on though, little floral heels, boyfriend jeans, hands free bag and FRINGE!?!  You can’t tell me you don’t kind of want to dance just lookin’ at it.  A feel-good outfit for a feel-good Monday!  That’s right, I said it.  I’m feelin’ good on a Monday.  How often do you hear that?  So many negative vibes sent out the first of the week, plenty from me, myself, and I no doubt, but today isn’t so bad.  Probably because of the outfit above, no? Sometimes boxy crop tops and boxy boyfriend style bottoms can be hard to pull off together.  The top has to hit at just the right spot so that you don’t just seem to be two boxes put together to make one human of a rectangle.  With this outfit, I found a way to balance out the boxiness with my shoes and the hip pack.  The hip back breaks up the shapes of the shirt and pants with a tiny rose colored pop.  The heels bring in a touch of femininity while also pulling together the colors of the jeans and hip pack.  So if you find yourself in a rectangular situation wardrobe wise, try adding in a few details to stop the eye from putting you in a box.  A fanny pack or even a statement bag that hits just right and a pair of dainty heels will do the trick!  Put ’em together, you know,...
Think Pink

Think Pink

Think pink here people.  It will make everything better, and that’s saying a lot as almost nothing can make anyone feel better about the fact that it’s Monday.  Wearing an outfit like the one above could possibly be of assistance too.  What other words of wisdom do I have to get you through your Monday blues?  Hm… the only other thing I can think of that makes Monday (or any day) any better is shopping.  Maybe hop on over to Hare + Hart to buy this bucket bag?  It begs you to, in all of it’s bucket-y, two-toned goodness.  Enough?  Okay good, cause I’m tapped out.  Sweater: Zara // Shorts & Shoes: Urban Outfitters // Bucket Bag: Hare + Hart Photography by Sylvia...
Midweek Music Relief: C’mere

Midweek Music Relief: C’mere

Holy moly!  This tee!  You know I am all about spicing up my tees, I’m always trying to find ways to get away with one while still looking like I care.  Well, this Get Away tee from Balm Apparel has a little spice of it’s own, and it just makes it that much more fun to style!  I added a vintage fur collar and some purple leather to make the tee pop! Seriously though, I haven’t taken it off since I received it.  It’s so soft and a tad oversized, but only enough to be perfectly disheveled and not drown in it.  My goodness, it’s too good to be true!  Plus, it’s a company based out of Utah, my home base, so there is a special little place in my heart for them.  Check them out here!  And take a peek at the BooBees tee, it’s definitely next on my list. Have a listen to the playlist while you get your new favorite tee!
