Doing my hair in NYC.

Doing my hair in NYC.

Sorry, not sorry for the overload of hair whipping pictures, but FINALLY!  We’re to the hair!  It feels like I have been waiting to share this forever!  If you follow me on Instagram, or even better, on Snapchat, you have seen bits and pieces of this already.  While in New York I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by THE hair color master, Carlina Ortega at Rita Hazan Salon.  Although I was only in New York for a short week, she was able to squeeze me in and give me the rainbow-unicorn-princess hair of my dreams!  And yes, it’s totally worthy of the title I just gave it because LOOK AT IT!   Carlina used a mint green, bubblegum pink, royal blue, and a bright yellow to add some fun into my soccer-mom-haircut, plain brown hair.  She also did an allover brown to give my hair a little boost of shine.  Et voilá!  Rainbow-unicorn-princess hair!  I literally can’t help but move and shake my head whenever I look in the mirror, or when I walk by a window… or when I look into my phone camera just to see my pretty hair… Don’t tell anyone about that last one.  You would do it too, I promise you.   If you live in New York or just happen to be visiting, I very highly suggest going to see her.  That is, I highly suggest you go see her if you want to be stuck looking in a mirror because you love your hair so much.   Seriously though…  P.S. Did you happen to notice that I am wearing...
Tie a Sweatshirt Around It.

Tie a Sweatshirt Around It.

Remember when my hair was gray?  😳  Back to my natural!  Which calls for brightly colored backgrounds filled with palms and orange houses.  How cute is it though?  I would never think to paint my house orange, but for some reason against the green of the plants it looks SO good.  I think so at least, so you get to experience it too!   I’ve been loving this BOY sweatshirt a lot lately.  I bring it everywhere and throw it on, over, or around everthing I am wearing.  I think it perfectly compliments the girly pink dress and ties in the more masculine boots with this outfit.   And now we are to the boots.  These oh so glorious lace up boots!  Thank goodness for zippers on these guys, otherwise I would not have the patience and would never wear them.  I love how many times the laces criss-cross, it just adds a little something to them, but tightening them every time would take an eternity.   AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR ‘DAT.  Dress: Vintage // Sweatshirt: Band of Outsiders // Boots: Steve Madden Photography by Eli...
Blue and green and white all over.

Blue and green and white all over.

So what do you think of the new hair?  I’m into it.  The plan from the beginning wasn’t to go silvery-white, but as soon as I saw how light Chloe (my magical hair stylist), got my hair, I was like well… Let’s try!  And here we are!  I think it looks killer with this dress too, the colors all just make me so happy which is why I chose this outfit for the debut style post of my new locks.   Now, on to the outfit!  This vintage dress has been begging to be worn since the second I got it.  Here I went with the sheer over jeans thing, but I’m excited to also style it as a dress.  Any piece that you can wear more than one way is a piece worth having, if you ask me.  You didn’t ask me, but I’m telling you any way.  This is something I think about every time I pick out my clothing, especially since I am constantly shooting my outfits.  An article of clothing that can get me more than one type of outfit definitely wins every time.  It’s all about maximizing your wardrobe and sheer pieces are a great way to do just that!  Do you have pieces like this?  What pieces do you end up getting the most out of in your closet? Dress: Fiery Finish Vintage (One of the best vintage collections I have seen with some of the best pricing, SERIOUSLY.) // Jeans: H&M // Shoes: Urban Outfitters // Bag: Wessley NYC  Hair: If you live in Los Angeles or Orange County and you dig cool hair,...

Spring is in the air.

Spring is in the air.

Talk about spring being in the air! This strip of sidewalk was too pretty to pass by, with all of it’s pink petal covered goodness.  It’s the perfect backdrop to a muted outfit and it’s all tied together with my killer hair!  The sunshine isn’t hurting the situation either… Understated outfits are made interesting by the shapes within them.  The interesting shapes of this outfit make it go from blah beige to something worth looking at.  The monochromatic coloring does me a favor here, as sometimes wide pants and a wide top can be hard to pull off, but doing it all in similar colors can help elongate you.  I don’t think there has ever been a more perfectly laid back outfit, especially when paired with chucks. Are you ready for spring? It’s coming! Are wide leg pants on your list? Try it in monochrome!
