Doing my hair in NYC.

Doing my hair in NYC.

Sorry, not sorry for the overload of hair whipping pictures, but FINALLY!  We’re to the hair!  It feels like I have been waiting to share this forever!  If you follow me on Instagram, or even better, on Snapchat, you have seen bits and pieces of this already.  While in New York I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by THE hair color master, Carlina Ortega at Rita Hazan Salon.  Although I was only in New York for a short week, she was able to squeeze me in and give me the rainbow-unicorn-princess hair of my dreams!  And yes, it’s totally worthy of the title I just gave it because LOOK AT IT!   Carlina used a mint green, bubblegum pink, royal blue, and a bright yellow to add some fun into my soccer-mom-haircut, plain brown hair.  She also did an allover brown to give my hair a little boost of shine.  Et voilá!  Rainbow-unicorn-princess hair!  I literally can’t help but move and shake my head whenever I look in the mirror, or when I walk by a window… or when I look into my phone camera just to see my pretty hair… Don’t tell anyone about that last one.  You would do it too, I promise you.   If you live in New York or just happen to be visiting, I very highly suggest going to see her.  That is, I highly suggest you go see her if you want to be stuck looking in a mirror because you love your hair so much.   Seriously though…  P.S. Did you happen to notice that I am wearing...
Throw a sweater on it.

Throw a sweater on it.

This bright red sweater just felt so right, and so 90s, with this muted floral dress and classic Docs.  Nothing feels more like fall to me than a pair of boots and a sweater.  Although we have only had about two days that have even been cool enough to go outside in the last two weeks, the nights are starting to carry a little chill in them prompting the sweaters to make their debut.  Maybe one day, maybe, it will get cool enough to wear a sweater all day.  Only time will tell… Also adding quite the hand in making this outfit, my Serena by Sunita Mukhi backpack that I just can’t get enough of!  Shiny, sparkly, and always watching, the eye on this guy makes me so happy.  It’s the perfect way to add a little funk to an outfit while taking on the chic eye trend that has spread like wild fire in the last few months.  I’m so in love!  Getchya own here! What to do with a shirt dress.

What to do with a shirt dress.

Plain white is something that keeps popping up in my wardrobe as of late.  This is really odd because white is something I usually steer clear of because of the hassle of not having a dark colored napkin constantly on my body.  I am an adult, I reassure myself like, four times a day, but this seems to be a habit I can’t kick.  Oh well, life goes on and I will always limit my whites to something that I absolutely cannot live without.  Case in point, this shirt dress.  My boyfriend said it kinda looks like something Jesus would wear, or that I should be getting baptized or something, but I like it so he’ll have to deal.  I especially like any dress that lends to my obsession with bike shorts, and this one suits it perfectly.  You can even catch glimpses of said shorts through the slit now and again. On top of the killer shirt, the Mary Jane Docs kinda steal the show.  Dr. Martens are known for their thick soles, but add in double the height and I’m sold.  Although they do have the slightly unflattering ability to shorten and stump-ify your legs, I’ll still do it.  The best kind of shoes for showing off my beloved socks are Mary Jane’s, so I am beginning to build up an arsenal of them.  Time for more sock shopping!   …it’s a really good thing that my boyfriend loves me. Floral Dress and Docs, it’s so 90s.

Floral Dress and Docs, it’s so 90s.

Another day, another floral dress.  Really though, it has been so warm in Los Angeles that all you can do is throw on a no fuss dress and shoes and call it a day.  I prefer to throw on shoes of the Doc Marten variety, because you can’t go wrong with them.  Really!  They are great with jean shorts or pants, any kind of dress, and they always add a little edge and a little masculinity to your outfit, plus a little 90s, which, come on, we all love.  I love days like this when you can do nothing but be carefree and do a few spins and enjoy the sun.  Hopefully you are enjoying the new site, but get outside and play!
