Vintage Dress + Helmut Lang Boots

Vintage Dress + Helmut Lang Boots

Rain, rain, go away… Confused?  Not if you live in LA. Right now it’s pouring rain, and I mean POURING.  This naturally seemed like a good post for such weather because 1) it’s sunny in the pictures and 2) the colors are reminiscent of rainy day attire.  Right?  Well, you can wear black any ol’ time like I discussed in Pattern Play, it just seems majorly appropriate when it rains.  I think it’s mostly because you can go outside without fear of taking part in natures wet t-shirt contest, but who am I to judge?   This dress, which my boyfriend immediately deemed a teacher’s dress, is another one of my finds from Fiery Finish Vintage.  Remember the green and blue floral one?  YEA you do, because it was awesome.  Anyway, it’s another lovely vintage score.  Want to revisit the “teacher dress” comment?  I sure do.  This dress, does in fact, remind me of something a teacher would wear.  Probably because of the clock/tree/house situation and also because it’s rather large and flowy.  I always picture teachers in some sort of oversized dress or skirt/sweater combo, with something ridiculous printed (or maybe embroidered with bead detailing) on it.  Santa, crayons, flowers, turkeys, you name it and it’s been emblazoned across some teacher’s outfit.  I however, am not a teacher of the grade school type, but think it suits me just as nicely! The important thing about pulling things like teacher dresses off, is to update them with something kinda spunky.  Say… pointy boots and a weapon of a bag!  Add in a little gray-white hair and… well.. maybe that...
Monday? Is that you?

Monday? Is that you?

Today is such a Monday.  I know it is Monday, but it’s SUCH a Monday.  Catchin’ my drift?  I love this outfit because it’s the coolest form of tourist wear there is.  Fanny pack: check.  Short-sleeved, patterned button up: check.  Tie up shorts: check.  I’m cooler than cool, right?  I know.  I hope your Monday isn’t so full of… well, Monday.    Top: Vintage // Shorts: Maison Kitsune // Bag: Hip Pack: Mox by Vere Verto // Shoes: Helmut Lang Envelope Boot (these are the same boot in waxed suede) Photography by Josephine...
Black + Black

Black + Black

All black is something that is rarely seen around here, but sometimes it just feels oh-so right.  Maybe it’s all the bright sunshiny clothing and weather lately, but I am totally ready for some fall coloring!  Don’t get me wrong, I will wear bright colors all year round, but a big fuzzy sweater in darker colors sounds good about now.  Well, not really, because it’s way too hot, but the idea of it being cool enough to wear something like that sounds good.   Everything I am wearing is vintage!  Dresses like this from the 90s are all over Goodwill or whatever your thrift store of choice may be, just cut it to your desired length and there ya go!
