Don’t be a piece of paper. Please.

White on white!  It seems that white is popping up quite a bit this summer over here, bringing to light one very important detail: I need a tan/a beach day/a week in Hawaii.  Luckily for you, I have the tiniest bit of olive naturally in my skin so I don’t get completely lost in my outfit.    The trick though, really, is to build your white outfits without turning into a blank sheet of paper.  How do you do that without adding color in?  Well, a great place to start is with a tiny bit of a pattern, like in the pants above.  Granted the pattern is in black, but it’s not bringing in so much that it over powers the white.  Next is the most important step, different shades of white!  This is done all too perfectly, and might I add all too easily, with this crochet fringe collar from Absenta.   As soon as I saw this collar I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  LAYER WITH WHITE.  It’s kind of odd, as layering whites isn’t something I normally do, but for some reason I knew it had to go with white.  Maybe it was the fact that it was slightly off white?  I think I like the thought of something adding interest to a plain white top, which is hard to do without completely taking it over with color.  Not with this collar though, it adds an incredible amount of detail to my top, while almost blending in and completely standing out at the same time.  Really it could go with any color...
Jumpsuit + Angles

Jumpsuit + Angles

In a pretty silly and bright mood today, even though we are almost as far from Friday as we can be… Who can complain in an outfit like this and a background like that?  Not I!  Vintage army green jumpsuit and white converse paired with the perfect statement accessory, a necklace that Bound sent over! Handmade in Los Angeles, and perfectly angular, it’s a line I can definitely get behind.  They also have killer rings and earrings, check them out!  I’m in love, that’s for sure, so don’t be surprised when more pieces pop up over here.   Jumpsuit: Vintage // Necklace: Bound // Shoes: Converse // Sunglasses: Random shop by the beach Photography by  Sumanta...
Uniform.

Uniform.

I am not sure why, but if you subtract the purple hair and tattoos from these pictures, you would probably have a lovely catalogue spread.  Maybe selling shoes or fun or something.  Go back and look, you will see what I mean.  After that, there isn’t much to say except that it is still summer-in-winter here.  It is so easy to just throw on a dress and some converse and possibly a light jacket, and not think twice about it.  So sorry to all of you with temps too low to fathom, I guess you should move.  Either that or don’t complain.  Pick one.   Dress: Free People // Jacket: Urban Outfitters // Shoes: Converse // Purse: Vintage Photography by Rebecca...
Balmy.

Balmy.

I love these shoes so much.  They are kind of ankle breakers, but you know.  Do what you gotta do. On a less painful note, it is like, I dunno, 65 degrees outside.  While the rest of the country turn into human-cicles, we are keeping it nice and warm here in LA.  Looks like a balmy 80 for next week.  Come visit, you won’t regret it.
