We had our five minutes of winter here in Los Angeles, and I must say, it was nice. I like sweaters every once in a while, but sweater weather is about as cold as I can stand which is why I live where I live! Now it’s back into the 70s, which is just the way I like it. For the rest of the country, here’s a little chilly weather outfit inspiration!
Big sweaters over dresses with different shapes or textures are definitely a cold weather staple for me. This Echo + Air dress was more than perfect for this because the skirt on it has such an eye grabbing shape. This combo is perfect for Southern California dwelling me for when the sun decides to come out and I need to take the sweater off. Versatility is key here people! Plus, wearing a dress under adds a layer underneath if you need to safeguard your skin from the itchiness of your sweater. Doesn’t it seem all the best ones itch? Yes, they do, but you must do it anyway!
To dress up the look a bit, I added in the structured Mox by Vere Verto (which you saw in Let Me Count the Ways as a hip pack), and these very structured oxfords. I love adding in contrasting accessories to take the outfit to a different level, here it’s the draping of the dress and the oversize fit of the sweater against the clean cut lines of the bag and shoes. Do you notice this kind of thing in your outfits too? Am I maybe just crazy? Hmmm….. Either way, happy Monday! AND it’s February! have you started planning your Valentine’s Day festivities yet? Clock’s tickin’!
