After getting a few questions about my skin & makeup, I decided to do a beauty routine post. I know, kinda seems boring right? Well I used to think so too, but sometimes you see someone and you are like “What are they doing!?!” because for some reason they glow and they aren’t pregnant. I am in no way shape or form saying I glow, or that I’m pregnant, but it’s fun to share what I do, because maybe you are wondering! Here goes! (I’m super excited, can’t you tell?)
I start my day by, of course brushing my teeth, and then I always move right into washing my face with Image Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser. After washing and drying, I apply Iluma by Image Bleaching Serum or Lightening Serum (alternating bottles, as soon as one runs out, I start the other and so on), and pat it over my face and neck to keep my skin tone even.
I then move on to eye cream, I prefer Image Vital C Hydrating Eye Recovery Gel, dabbing it all around my under eye and brow bone. Next I apply Image Prevention+ Hydrating Moisturizer SPF to my face, neck, and décolletage. Never leave the house without sunscreen, especially on your face! If I am feeling really adventurous, I will add a dab of Image I Conceal in Beige to the sunscreen, to give a tinted moisturizer effect. (I hate the feeling of something on my face, especially foundation, so this is as much coverage as it gets for me.)
I know this probably all sounds like a giant Image Skincare commercial, but it isn’t. I am not getting anything from them, it is just what I have found to be the best products for my skin. It keeps my face looking happy and healthy!
From there, now that my face is clean, moisturized, and protected, I move on to makeup. Generally I don’t wear much makeup, usually a little blush and mascara does the trick, but if I am going out somewhere besides the taco truck or the grocery store, I will add in a little bit more.
I start by prepping my eye area for whatever I have coming for it with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Trust me, after you use this, your eye makeup isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Just dab a little across your top lid, maybe a tad under your bottom lashes, depending on the look you are going to do, and it’s there for a good 24 hours if you want it to be.
For the most part, my eye makeup consists of doing a cat eye of sorts. I use Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner, as it seems to last the longest of the many different eyeliner pens I have tried. It comes out smooth and even and if you catch it quickly, you can wipe it away with a wet Q-tip, because everyone knows you can’t get cat eyes even on the first try. If you can, well, you don’t need help so go away.
If I am feeling like I want a bit more color, I tend to stick to the bronzes and golds, usually Lancôme Center Stage, Pose, 24 Karat, or Kitten Heel. Placing a darker color towards the outside corner of my eye and something lighter, like 24 Karat towards the inner corner.
As soon as all of that is done, I apply a little blush to make sure I don’t look like the walking dead. My favorite light weight blush is definitely Benetint or Posietint by Benefit Cosmetics, depending on my mood. I draw a little X on the apple of each cheek, then rub it in and dab a little on my lips for good measure.
The last touch is the mascara. I ALWAYS use a base because the worst thing in the world is bleeding or flaking mascara. Maybe not the worst thing in the world, but I definitely don’t enjoy it. I use Lancôme CILS Booster XL, which thickens and separates the lashes (or maybe the bottle just says that), but it just keeps it looking better for much longer than mascara on it’s own. I then put Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes over, and call it a day! Well… maybe not quite yet…
Before bed I of course wash my face again! I use either the same Image Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser, or alternate in Image Ageless Total Facial Cleanser when I need a bit of exfoliation. I then repeat the Iluma by Image Bleaching Serum or Lightening Serum, whichever bottle I am on, and Image Vital C Hydrating Eye Recovery Gel. After that, the only difference from the morning is that I use Image Vital C Hydrating Anti Aging Serum to hydrate. Now we can call it a day.
Did you learn anything? Probably not. Is it fun to see how someone else does things? Sometimes. Any tips, tricks or suggestions of your own? Lemme know!
P.S. Here is a better look at my face! I kid, it’s a better look at the eye shadow.
