It’s Monica Geller! Or is it?

After spending a week only halfway in work mode because I had family in town, it’s time to get this show on the road!  Maybe a little ill-timed after such a big relaunch, but I think it’s good to take a little breather after so much work, no?  Well, it doesn’t really matter if it was a good idea or not, because all is said and done and here we are, MONDAY, and time to get back to work!  I’m really excited about the next home style post, which includes so much love for the first and last area you see of my apartment.  It’s really the first and last thing you see of any apartment, unless you are climbing out back windows, so to each their own!  Around here though, we use the front door, so I feel like it’s important for it to make an impression.  Getting you excited?

But now down to the nitty-gritty, the outfit you see above! So, when I first found this skirt all I could think of was Friends.  I have no idea why because I have no immediate recollection of anyone wearing a skirt like this on the show, but it just seems to fit into the early-years-Monica-Geller style.  What do you think?  I think she would have paired it with a cropped boxy sweater maybe, instead of a tee, but I’m going with the tee route.  Finding a tee shirt that went with the tighter fit of the skirt was a little tricky.  If it was at all loose in any area it pretty much just looked like a big mess, so I went with a more form fitting tee.  I think it turned out quite nicely.  It’s a pretty chilled out version of a more business-type outfit, and I’m into it.  Plus any time I can wear flats (which I really manage to do mostly every single day), I am a happy girl.

Another thing I LOVE about this outfit is that it’s totally made by my hair.  Since going with the purple color I have put clothes on and wondered how I ever got away with them with a plain brown hair color.  Didn’t I look like a total soccer mom, with my little bob and bangs and natural hair color?  Now I can pretty much put anything on and I still have a little spice.  So if you are asking me, I’m going to vote we all go with unnatural hair colors.  I wanna see rainbow hair on all of you! Pronto!
