Styling a vintage dress with sneakers.

Off all of the vintage dresses I own, this is definitely one of my favorites.  It’s like the best 80s-space-suit-retro-pop-fusion dress that ever existed!  I feel like I could do anything in it, which is why I paired it with my trusty Converse to frolic around Los Angeles on a warm (and I’m not going to lie, uncomfortably humid) Saturday.  A dress I can throw on with sneakers is a dress that will stay near to my heart for many a Saturday to come.   Button up, light weight dresses with cool patterns rival jumpsuits for me.  They are just as easy to put on and just as comfortable as long as you aren’t tryna karate kick anyone.  Don’t get me wrong, it could definitely still be accomplished in a dress like this, you just might have to sacrifice your dignity while everyone sees your underpants. Let’s just stick with punches for the day, alright? Dress: Fiery Finish Vintage // Shoes: Converse // Bag: Urban Outfitters  Photography by Eli...
LA Ninja Warrior Ep. 1

LA Ninja Warrior Ep. 1

Just kidding, this isn’t LA Ninja Warrior episode 1.  It’s episode 2! (For the first installment, see this post.)  Really though, I was so pumped, and I mean P-U-M-P-E-D, when I found this matching set.  It was just sitting there at a thrift store in Salt Lake over the 4th of July, minding it’s own business, when I came along!  It is pretty happy to be with me too, I’m pretty sure… I would really like to meet the person who first purchased this set because they are obviously awesome.  Well, maybe they aren’t that awesome because they did end up donating it to a thrift store.  I like to think that they just grew out of it though, maybe too wide or too thin for it?  Let’s go with that as to not ruin this person that I have put on a pedestal for buying a dragon ninja outfit.   Anyway, finds like this are why I love to shop for vintage in Utah.  I feel like it’s hard to find such awesomeness in Los Angeles, either because it’s gone already or because it costs $5,000.  This little set cost me a grand total of $6.  Seriously.  So, if you ever find yourself in Utah make some time to go to Deseret Industries (the resident and all reigning thrift store chain in Utah), and dig up some gems.  I promise you won’t be sorry.   Until I go back though, I at least have this guy to keep my heart warm at night.   Matching Set: Vintage // Sneakers: Galibier // Bag: Hare + Hart Photography by Eli...
T-shirt dresses are nothing but trouble.

T-shirt dresses are nothing but trouble.

A basic t-shirt dress is nothing but trouble.  Trouble, trouble, trouble.  Wanna know why?  Because once you find the perfect one, one that just feels good when you put it on, in all of it’s t-shirt-y glory, you never want to take it off.  You wake up in the morning, you put on the dress.  You go to bed and take it off just to sleep a few hours and start the whole process over again.  What a pain those t-shirt dresses are!  Taking up all of that valuable wardrobe time!  Well listen up little missy, I’m not taking it anymore!  No more of your “Oh, look how soft and swooshy and comfortable I am!”  No.  I won’t stand for it.  Get a job t-shirt dress!  GET A JOB.  Well, okay.  Maybe not until tomorrow, because today I am wearing you.  Okay well maybe the next day.  FINE!  Just stay home, be lazy, and best of all, BE MINE.   Thanks, bye.  Dress: BagLady Basics Drop Waist Tee Dress // Bag: Brandon Blackwood NYC // Shoes: Glitter Sneakers (On SALE!
