Getting things together.

Getting things together.

This little cluster of things sits on my table in my kitchen.  I love putting together little areas of things that make me happy.  Either clustering things together on a tray, hanging things I love by my door to greet me, or decorating shelves with silly toys, these little areas can be found all around my house.  So many things to share with you guys so soon, be excited!  More about my house, about my life, and even documentation of the random inkling to cook!  Well, really it’s my boyfriend who does the cooking, but I love the making-it-cute-for-a-picture part.   This is just a taste, so stick around and bear with my short absence from frequent posting as I get everything ready! Rabbit: Anthropologie, they are out of stock, but I think these would make for the perfect replacement! // Candle: Anthropologie // Copper tray: Target, similar idea here and here // Tea towel: HomeGoods // Suckers:...
I’m just SO excited!

I’m just SO excited!

YOU GUYS! I am so excited to show you my hair!  I had my natural color for almost an entire year (that is definitely a record for me), so I was ready for a BIG change.  In comes my new favorite person in the entire world, Chloe!  She came to my house (huge bonus because I loath driving), brought everything she needed, and got to work making a colorful, happy masterpiece of my hair!  I literally can’t tell you guys how excited I am about it!  Maybe you can sense it because every sentence ends in an exclamation point?  Anyway, not only did she give me the cutest multi-colored head of hair, but she is FREAKIN’ adorable!  (Go check her out on Instagram, @sushimonstuh, you will see what I mean.)  Plus, now that my hair is this light, I can pretty much try out any color!  What’s next?  I dunno, but the door just swung wide open! Alright, want to talk about the clothes a little?  These shorts, which are normcore as all get-out, are popping up all over my wardrobe lately.  Case in point, the pair in When It’s Right.  The thing that is cool about this kind of piece is that it stands back to let other aspects of your outfit shine through, while still being comfortable and chic, in that late 30’s, dorky-mom-tourist kind of way.  You know?  Yea, you know.  The black pair above served as the perfect accompaniment to my Vere Verto Mox bag as a hip pack.  I’m like the coolest fanny pack and mom shorts wearing chick around, no?  What with my...
Spring cravings?

Spring cravings?

Mixing seasons can be hard, but it’s a fact of life as the weather will inevitably change and fashion trends will be there, right along side, for the ride.  Now, I’m not saying anything I am doing here is new, socks with sandals dates back to most of our kinder years, BUT it’s a nice little switch up while the seasons make their transitions which makes it feel new.  I mean, it was a good like… I don’t know… four months ago that we were in fall transition and socks and sandals were rearing their ugly (yes, it’s kind of an ugly pairing), little heads.  So yes, four months later it does feel new and exciting when it’s something that has been taken from you, like cold weather seems to do with not only our sandals, but everyone’s soul.  That may or may not be a slight exaggeration… Any way, it’s time to start thinking about spring and how to merge cold and warm weather pieces into one seamless set of outfits.  I like the idea of marshmallow-y sweaters and longer shorts, like I talked about in The long and short of it, but the outfit above is also a good option.  Pair shorts of a more sturdy fabric, also known as leather, with a wool sweater to keep yourself warm.  Been craving summer days filled with platform sandals and sun kissed legs?  Throw on your favorite sandals with a cute pair of socks to match your sweater!  As far as the sun kissed legs go, I can’t really help you with that.  Sorry dudes!  I do hope though...
