T-shirts and mini skirts.

T-shirts and mini skirts.

It’s real hot today, which means all you can do is eat popsicles and wear as little clothing as possible.  Well, maybe a little more than “as little as possible,” but this mini and tee shirt combo will definitely do.  Mini skirts are the essence of summer, if you ask me, and nothing goes better with them than a big baggy tee to offset the girlishness of it.  You can always go with a plain white tee and a patterned skirt, but where is the fun in that?  Well, there is still fun in that, because you should always have fun in a mini, but I wanted it to have something more unexpected.  I took a shirt with the same overall color scheme, aka black with a little white/gray/other colors, and threw in some sneakers of the same color scheme.  Each piece somehow flows into the next, while keeping their own point of interest. Starting out with one piece, for me the skirt, and building upon it is usually how I pick out my outfits.  I decide on one thing that I for sure want to wear that day, and then find a shirt that compliments it, and then go for shoes.  Breaking it down like this makes getting dressed a much less daunting task because you aren’t trying to figure everything out at one time.  Now if I could just apply this method to everything in life, I think a lot more would get done… Well, maybe tomorrow, but for now, at least I am dressed!   Shirt:  Led Zeppelin classic from my boyfriend closet // Skirt: Urban...
Midweek Music Relief: Dream

Midweek Music Relief: Dream

These are a few shots of my friend Danielle that I took from our rooftop while living in Brooklyn, NY.  While we have both made our way to the Golden State, her to San Francisco and me to sunny Los Angeles, living in New York is definitely one of the best life experiences you can have.  While I don’t miss the cold winter and stinky subway stations, I do miss burgers with this bodacious babe and a rooftop view.  Dreaming of this life and so many corner eating places today. Playlist by my lovely musically inclined assistant,...
How to Wear Adidas Slides the Right Way.

How to Wear Adidas Slides the Right Way.

Along with the whole Birkenstock craze, that seemingly isn’t going anywhere fast, the Adidas shower slides have popped their heads into the fashion game every now and then in the past year or so.  I’m not mad, are you?  Anything that is comfortable and easy is welcome in my book.  I love the way they take an outfit that is going in one direction into a completely unexpected one, one with an almost high fashion sporty look.  Much in the same way that bright sneakers made their way into high fashion, these slides add some excitement and ease to any outfit. I paired some lightweight pleated chambray pants (another version of mom pants, which we all know I love), with a light weight tank and an almost lingerie-esque mesh top to contrast the more masculine side of the outfit.  This is the key to adding in things such as sporty shower slides, you have to have an outfit that speaks for something more chic, and then throw the world a curve ball.  Unexpected parings are my forte, and I love sharing them with you and giving you inspiration to make your own.  What are your favorite unexpected pairings?  I would love to hear in the comment section below! Sandals: Adidas Duramo Slides // Pants: American Apparel, similar here & here // Tank: H&M, similar here & here // Top: Vintage, could be mimicked with this or...

Sunday School: Gettin’ Leggy.

Sun•day school noun a congregation of snapshots to enlighten you in the doctrine of fashion; held on a weekly basis.   This week: How to be perfectly LEGGY. As the days get warmer and the sun comes out, legs begin to make their springtime debut.  Perfectly tanned or unabashedly white, they grace us with their presence in every form.  Adorned in shorts and heels or dresses and flats, they strut their way down the street wearing whatever fashion “It Girl” they may.  Take a tip from the pros and let your legs out! *Images via Vogue, Fab Sugar, The Front Row View, Fashion Wire Press, Bike Pretty, and Always Judging....
Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Routine

After getting a few questions about my skin & makeup, I decided to do a beauty routine post.  I know, kinda seems boring right?  Well I used to think so too, but sometimes you see someone and you are like “What are they doing!?!” because for some reason they glow and they aren’t pregnant.  I am in no way shape or form saying I glow, or that I’m pregnant, but it’s fun to share what I do, because maybe you are wondering!  Here goes! (I’m super excited, can’t you tell?) I start my day by, of course brushing my teeth, and then I always move right into washing my face with Image Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser.  After washing and drying, I apply Iluma by Image Bleaching Serum or Lightening Serum (alternating bottles, as soon as one runs out, I start the other and so on), and pat it over my face and neck to keep my skin tone even. I then move on to eye cream, I prefer Image Vital C Hydrating Eye Recovery Gel, dabbing it all around my under eye and brow bone.  Next I apply Image Prevention+ Hydrating Moisturizer SPF to my face, neck, and décolletage.  Never leave the house without sunscreen, especially on your face!  If I am feeling really adventurous, I will add a dab of Image I Conceal in Beige  to the sunscreen, to give a tinted moisturizer effect. (I hate the feeling of something on my face, especially foundation, so this is as much coverage as it gets for me.) I know this probably all sounds like a giant Image Skincare commercial, but it...
